Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. The Psych RN provides nursing care to patients on each clinical unit as assigned, utilizing the nursing process. Patient population serviced includes both adolescents and adults. Patients are hospitalized for a broad variety of psychiatric disorders, including mood, anxiety, and thought disorders. Patients may also require treatment in specialty programming for trauma, eating disorders, and dual diagnosis (both substance abuse and psychiatric issues). This position actively supports, promotes and works to fulfill the Mission, Vision and Values of Forest View Hospital using our Service Excellence program. This is a Fulltime, 36 hours a week position (12 Hour Shifts- 7am-7pm). 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing the nursing process, the RN develops an initial nursing treatment plan for each admitted patient.
  • Competent in assessing, planning, and delivering care for patients with co-occurring disorders, eating disorders, and trauma backgrounds.
  • Directs and participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
  • Assists with discharge planning and works with patient at time of discharge.
  • Provides leadership to other personnel in crisis behavioral management.

Schedule: Night opportunities for 12 hour shifts. This role offers 36 hours per week, full-time Health benefits, and other opptional benefits. There is opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Current license to practice nursing in the state of Michigan (or eligible to receive or renew). 
  • Current CPR or BLS certification
